Dr. Andrew S Kennedy joined Physician Services Group in 2012 at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. Dr. Kennedy is a radiation oncologist with expertise in GI, GYN, Breast, Lung, and other cancers including blood (lymphomas) and pediatric cancers. In addition to being skilled in stereotactic radiotherapy (SRS and SBRT), he is accomplished in brachytherapy in all body areas (placing radioactive sources in or beside tumors in the body). He continues to follow many patients he has treated over the past 20 years of practice and is actively working in many national cancer quality improvement committees. Dr. Kennedy has given numerous presentations on radiation therapy for the treatment of colorectal and liver cancer and was instrumental in reintroducing an important new treatment for liver cancer called infusion of microspheres. This revolutionary treatment offers hope to patients who have not had success with chemotherapy. He has written dozens of articles, book chapters and abstracts on radiation oncology and has been invited to give presentations on radiation therapy for GI cancers and infusion of microspheres at the premier medical conferences in the United States and Europe. Dr. Kennedy is a graduate of the Loma Linda School of Medicine in California and completed his residency at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Nationally, he served as a member of the Board of Chancellors for the American College of Radiation Oncology and is a Fellow of the College.
